SNAPBRAIN – Turning chaos into clarity

Designed an intelligent utility that leverages Gemini AI to organize, summarize, and search screenshots, transforming a cluttered gallery into a personal knowledge base.

Role: Product & Design Lead Timeline: 8 weeks Status: Live on App Store

Overview

We take screenshots to remember things—bills, tickets, recipes, or inspiration. But they quickly get lost in the camera roll abyss. SnapBrain is an iOS utility that uses AI (OCR & Contextual Understanding) to automatically tag and organize these images. My focus was designing a privacy-first interface that feels instant and trustworthy.

Problem / Goal

My Role

I led the end-to-end product design, from defining the AI categorization logic to crafting the "Award-winning" Dark Mode UI implementation.

Constraints

The AI analysis had to be fast but lightweight to run efficiently on-device without draining battery or uploading private data to the cloud.

Process

  1. Discovery: Analyzed user habits. Found that 70% of screenshots are "temporary utility" (codes, addresses) that lose value after 24 hours.
  2. Semantic Search UX: Designed a search experience that allows natural language queries. Instead of searching for text matches only, users can search for "Electricity Bill" and the AI finds relevant images even if those exact words aren't prominent.
  3. Visual Hierarchy: Created a card-based UI that separates "Finance," "Shopping," and "Events" automatically, reducing cognitive load.

Next Steps

We are currently working on Mac integration to create a seamless cross-device "Second Brain" experience. Download the build on the App Store or contact me for a detailed walkthrough of the design system.
